Being Child Safe Aware

Children’s safety, health, wellbeing, rights, and best interests are paramount to us at Kradle 2 Krayons (K2K). K2K has always put child safety, protection, and wellbeing of the children at the forefront of all our dealings in all of our services. We are also pleased to see the increasing community-wide awareness, discussions in regard to child wellbeing and safety issues after the release of the findings of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse released in Dec 2017.

At K2K, we acknowledge that educators play a crucial role in providing a child safe environment, protecting children from harm, abuse, and neglect, and responding to and reporting incidents, suspected incidents, and concerns. All of our educators are well equipped with knowledge of child safety, wellbeing and rights by participating in regular training and child protection courses.

Child safety standards - Kradle 2 Krayons Early Learning Centre, Pendle Hill

In response to the recommendation of 10 Child Safe Standards by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, K2K has implemented all of the standards in our services and continue to raise bar for ourselves and others. K2K has Child Protection Policy, Child Safe Environment Policy, Code of Conduct for Staff, Volunteers and Visitors Policies and Procedures in place, which are reviewed in partnership with educators and families to ensure practices and processes are as contemporary and robust as possible.

K2K will continue to lead in empowering children and educate ourselves, our communities regarding child safety, rights, and well-being.
